The Mt. Wilson Observatory Association is a volunteer support group for the Mt. Wilson Observatory. One of our main interests is in public education and enhancing the public's experience at the Observatory. To that end, we conduct a year-round calendar of free public lectures on topics related to the Observatory and to astronomy.
In a recent change, MWOA has decided to now hold all its monthly lectures at the Altadena Public Library, including the ones during the summer months. They will all be on the 4th Sunday of the month. Refreshments are at 2:00 pm; the lecture is at 2:30 pm.
We have a special meeting and public lecture on the 4th Sunday in November at the Altadena Public Library. It is our Annual Membership Meeting where, in addition to the lecture, the President gives his "State of MWOA" report, an annual Treasurer's report is given, and members are elected to the Board of Directors. Refreshments are at 2:00 pm; the meeting begins at 2:30 pm.
No lecture is held in December due to Christmas, and usually not in May due to RTMC.
See the Directions page for how to get to the Altadena Public Library.
See the MWOA home page for the speakers and their lecture topics.
