Here is a collection of Mt. Wilson photographs. Some are of or from the Observatory, and some are taken through its telescopes. This page is an ongoing endeavor, and will have more photos added as they become available.

The following photos were recently acquired from David Rose at Reed's Camera Shop in Pasadena. They apparently were taken by a former owner of the shop. They show the 100-inch mirror being hauled up the Toll Road to the Observatory on July 1, 1917. They are presented in order (as far as we can guess). Does anyone know who any of these people are? If so, please contact Don Nicholson.

• Number 1 At the Toll House in Altadena (now Altadena Dr. and Mendocino) in mid-morning

• Number 2 Does anyone know what kind of car this is?

• Number 3 Starting up the hill, Altadena in the left background

• Number 4 People walked along with the slowly moving truck

• Number 5 It's an early Mack truck with solid-rubber tires

• Number 6 Those hillsides are steep, and it's a long way down

• Number 7 The photographer on the hill is holding his dark slide

• Number 8 An umbrella was opened to shield against the summer Sun

• Number 9 The newspapers and newsreels were covering the event

• Number 10 The truck rounds a bend on the narrow road

• Number 11 It was hot and dusty that July day

• Number 13 The Mack truck has overheated and cools off in the shade
